AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE

Aromatherapy massage is a two-pronged treatment, using the benefits of both Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy to provide you with an experience that is both relaxing and of benefit to your health and well-being.
Swedish body massage uses five different strokes. It increases oxygen flow to your blood, and allows your muscles to release toxins. You initially lie on your back whilst your feet, legs, arms, shoulders and upper chest are massaged, before turning over so that your practitioner can work on the backs of your legs and arms, and also your back, shoulders and neck. Only the part of the body being massaged is uncovered, everything else is covered with a sheet. You may keep their underwear on if you wish!

Aromatherapy is method developed around 1907 in France that uses distilled essential oils to aid specific physical or psychological problems via both inhalation and absorption. These oils are mixed by your therapist into a blend specific to you and your ailments or health/ relaxation desires. This blend is kept on record, so that every time you come back you will benefit from your own massage oil.

Fiona has an extensive collection of essential oils, both ‘everyday’ oils such as tea tree, as well as more unusual oils such as white thyme and myrrh, and these oils are sufficiently varied as to encompass a huge range of uses and benefits.

The massage takes place in a warm treatment room with dim lights and soothing music, and is extremely relaxing.

As well as being highly relaxing, Aromatherapy Massage is helpful for joint pain and stiffness, osteoarthritis, tension, overused muscles, high blood sugar levels, infertility, PMS, digestive disorders, anxiety, insomnia, and slow healing, and many more disorders and problems. It is also of great use for relaxation and de-stressing, whether as a regular part of a hectic lifestyle, or as a special treat whilst on holiday. It is especially useful for relaxation and relief during pregnancy. If you are unsure whether massage is right for you, please contact me and I will try to help you find the best treatment.

As well as being a certified aromatherapist, Fiona has also undertaken a specific course in Aromatherapy and Pregnancy, so you can rest assured that your health and well-being are her utmost priority, and that she is well versed not only in the uses of aromatherapy oils, but also in all contra-indications to their use.

The treatment lasts for one hour.
