Indian Head Massage (correctly known as Champissage) is an Ayurvedic treatment brought to Europe in the 1970s. It is a very flexible treatment in that you as the client have a number of options - you can choose to be seated or lying down, and you can opt for oil, or choose to have the treatment without. Despite its name, Indian Head Massage encompasses not only the head, but also the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, upper chest and face. It is beneficial for conditioning the hair and scalp, improving blood flow and encouraging hair growth, easing headaches caused by tension, and can also aid sinus issues and sleeping problems. It is deeply relaxing, and a very enjoyable treatment.
